Software Selection

The right system for a business your size, not the biggest one.

An independent evaluation for small and mid-sized businesses. Whether it's customer management, job and project tracking, scheduling, or the tools that connect them, I match the choice to how your team really works and what you can afford to run.

Most software advice comes from someone who sells it

Software vendors and implementation partners are paid when you buy their product, and the biggest platforms are often more than a smaller team needs or can maintain. I don't resell any software, so the recommendation follows your needs, not a commission.

Start with how you work

How a lead becomes a quote, a quote becomes a job, a job becomes an invoice, and where the information lives today. I explain it in plain language, not jargon.

Count the real cost

License price is only part of it. Setup, upkeep, add-ons, and the time your team spends in the system all count.

Plan the move before you sign

Your data, your integrations, and your team's habits decide whether it works. They get planned first.

A decision you can stand behind

  • A one-page picture of how your business runs and what the new system must do.
  • A short list of realistic options, including “fix what you already have” and lighter-weight tools built for smaller teams.
  • A simple side-by-side of the true cost over the first few years.
  • A recommendation, a rollout plan, and a plan to get your team using it.
  • Optional hands-on help setting it up and connecting it to your other tools.

I've worked with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, and Oracle/Siebel, and with custom-built systems. I also build EvoMerge, a business platform for service companies. If it's a good fit for you, I'll say so. If it isn't, I'll say that too. All services →  ·  Already stuck mid-project? →

Common questions

What kinds of software do you help choose?

Customer and sales management, job and project tracking, scheduling, quoting and invoicing, and the integrations between them.

We're a small team. Is this overkill?

No, that's the point. A smaller business has the least room for a wrong choice, so a short, focused evaluation pays for itself.

Can you also set it up?

Yes, if you want. The selection work stands on its own either way.

Choosing a system?

A direct conversation about what you need and what a realistic evaluation looks like.
